The chief one is Self-Knowledge.

Others include freedom from financial stress, a well-prepared academic base, learning skills, self-discipline–as well as others.

One of the most important is the quality of the teaching.

This goes for high school, grade school and university too!

AN OLD SAYING THAT IS NOT ALWAYS TRUE!

Yeah, right. We’ve all had bad teachers: careless, underprepared, ignorant, arrogant, lazy people who “Phoned it in.”

Many are worse than that.

Those teachers were/are a  blight. They stifle curiosity and creativity and the child’s natural love of learning.

But GOOD teachers can change your life, put you on a  path to success.

They are worth gold.

This has been known for years but here’s more research evidence that backs up the early research and people’s real experience.

A CARING PROFESSOR IS A KEY TO COLLEGE SUCCESS

If you believe the new “Gallup-Purdue Index Report,” a study of 30,000 graduates of American colleges on issues of employment, job engagement, and well-being, it all comes down to old-fashioned values and human connectedness. One of the report’s big takeaways: College graduates, whether they went to a hoity-toity private college or a mid- tier public, had double the chances of being engaged in their work and were three times as likely to be thriving in their well-being if they connected with a professor on the campus who stimulated them, cared about them, and encouraged their hopes and dreams.
